Agility Seminar with Tracy Sklenar

Tracy Sklenar is the Owner and Training Director of Leader
of the Pack (Smyrna, NY) and an instructor at Susan Garrett's Say Yes Dog
Training (Ontario, Canada.) She is also a regular contributor of
training articles and event coverage to Clean Run and DogSport magazines.
Before moving to central New York, Tracy was on the staff of the Behavior
Department of the ASPCA in New York City, and she can be seen appearing on
TV on this season of Animal Planet's "Animal Precinct." Tracy is proud to be
a student of Susan Garrett, Greg Derrett, Susan Salo and Bob Bailey. Tracy
Sklenar brings years of teaching and performing experience to the sport of
dog agility. She teaches and competes throughout North America.
Saturday’s seminars:
"Foundations: What Every Agility Dog Should Know"
Geared to any age and level of dog, this seminar will cover
the important building blocks of a great foundation: impulse control games,
focus & motivation games, obstacle skills, rear end awareness, fundamentals
of handling and more!
“Contact Foundations”
This seminar will give you the tools to train the amazing
contacts that “Say Yes” is famous for! Suitable for green dogs who are
learning or experienced dogs in need of retraining, we will cover the games
used to teach the dog to drive to his contacts with speed, accuracy,
confidence, reliability and independence.
Sunday’s seminar:
"Course Analysis & Handling: Driving the Line & Turn Cues"
Maximize your time on course with clear and consistent
handling! Learn how to use your body to cue the dog to drive ahead on his
line and how to cue him to turn. We will also cover when and where to use
front crosses, rear crosses and serpentines, as well as teaching your dog to
find his lines on course.
Seminar hours will be from 9:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.
Working spots are limited to 15
on Sat. & 12 on Sun. Auditors are
limited to 12. The seminar will be held in an air conditioned building.
Bring your own chair (No high backed chairs please) and your dog’s crate
(please bring a water proof mat for under your crate.) Due to limited space,
only dogs signed up for a working slot will be allowed.
Cost of the seminars is $ 250 for a 2 day working slot or
$150 for a single day working slot. Auditor’s fees are $50 per day. Coffee
and breakfast snacks, along with a lunch will be provided.
